What is the entrance fee?
For parents, the entrance fee is free through registration! We have a limited number of tickets available before we are at capacity. Register for the conference here. For staff and organization leaders, we are charging a nominal fee to offset costs for the conference.
I may need overnight accommodations. What is the rate at Hyatt?
For parents, we have limited slots available for a one-night accommodation at our host hotel free of charge checking in Thursday, 12/12/19 and checking out the day of the conference, Friday, 12/13/19. Any parent registering must indicate in their registration their interest for overnight accomodation. All requests are handled on a first-come, first serve basis. The accommodation is based on a double occupancy space only to ensure we are able to accomodate parent leaders. All cancellations must be received by Monday, December 2, 2019 to ensure parents who may be on a waitlist can be accommodated.
For staff and organization leaders, the host hotel will be providing a booking code that will be updated in the upcoming week here on the website. Check back here for a new information.
I may have to bring my children with me during the conference. Is there services available during the conference?
In addition to a nursing room, we will also have a family-centered activities room where school age children will be able to participate with our conference staff members with educational activities and games throughout the conference. Kindly note there is limited space, as we are encouraging for families to see if there is available care prior to this option.
I would love to present at this conference! What do I need to do?

Please click here on Request for Program Proposals and submit by Thursday, November 21, 2019! We will be quickly reviewing and confirming our workshops by the following week. We also encourage presentations that are lead or co-presented by parents, especially during the fireside sessions. The first 2 sessions are 50 minutes each. The fireside session is 30 minutes.
I want to sponsor and/or have a table booth at the conference. What do I need to do?

Family Leadership Network at Choice for All
Choice for All is a social justice nonprofit organization focused on collectively solving issues adversely affecting the well-being of children and families across Long Island, New York and beyond. Choice for All provides over 30 programs and services focused on education, health, community development and leadership development. One of its signature leadership development programs is Family Leadership Network - a growing statewide network providing tools and resources for families to choose the path to positively impact their win community. FLN provides trainings, workshops and capacity building for families, schools, organizations and systems. FLN was selected to host and plan the statewide conference.
New York State Council on Children & Families
The Council on Children and Families coordinates New York's health, education and human services systems as a means to provide more effective systems of care for children and families. The Council was awarded the Preschool Development Grant Birth through Five from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. One of the core activities of the grant is holding a statewide parent leadership conference as part of an overall effort to ensure all children in New York State receive equitable and comprehensive early childhood services

This interactive, all-day event is designed for parents to build capacity of the state's early childhood system, foster opportunities to build connections with other parents and key stakeholders and motivate parents to grow into their role as leaders through collective action in transforming their communities.
The conference focuses on strengthening partnerships with parents, expanding parent choice and increasing knowledge to ensure all children in New York State receive equitable and comprehensive service. Additionally, the conference also provides a platform for parents to connect with administrators, policy makers and service providers to understand the needs of parents.
